Hasti Naroei was a seven-year-old girl killed by Islamic Regime forces in Zahedan on Friday, September 30, 2022, only a week before she was to attend her first ever day of school.
She accompanied her grandmother to Friday prayer in at the Mossala of Zahedan prayer hall. The worshippers staged a protest after the prayer and were attacked by the regime’s security forces. Hasti was killed after being beaten in the head and inhaling toxic tear gas deployed by the security forces.
Zahedan, the capital city of the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, has been the scene of weekly protests on each Friday since the beginning of the Woman, Life, Freedom Revolution. The security forces have been using live ammunition on protestors and have killed dozens of children in Zahedan alone throughout the protests.
Hasti is survived by her father Balal and family.
